King Eddies Revival Big Band
25/02/06 - Chairman's Civic Dinner

On the evening of the 25th February, King Eddies Revival Big Band played to a crowd of about 200 people at the Civic Hall in Stratford-upon-Avon at the request of the Chairman of the Council.  It was an exciting and enjoyable evening for everybody and after a couple of smaller gigs, the band were prepared for this big one.
The band arrived at 5.30pm to sound check but had to wait four hours before the first set.  The first set (details below) was very successful and eventually the dancefloor was filled with guests enjoying themselves.  After a 45-minute interval (mostly used by the guests to fill up on wine!) the band returned and finished the evening with a brilliant second set.
We had THREE vocalists who sang to the captivated audience - Rob Busiakiewicz, Phil Bowes and Ernest Amoako and all excelled.  Despite all the sore throats and sore lips, the band really got the big Civic Hall jiving with some newer numbers as well as some classics.
It was a very fun night and our next major gig, The May Ball 2006, will be a similar event - let's hope we can emulate what happened at the Civic Hall.
